Hua Xia, Female, Chief Physician of Ophthalmology, Doctoral Supervisor, Expert receiving Special Government Allowance from the State Council, Vice Chief Physician of Tianjin Region at Aier Eye Hospital Group, Tianjin "131" Innovative Talent (Second Level), Tianjin Distinguished Professor (Young Scholar), Tianjin First Session "Excel Expert", Tianjin First Session "Medical Rising Star" Awardee, Doctoral Supervisor at Tianjin University and Central South University, Principal Investigator (PI) of National Key Laboratory (Haihe Laboratory of Brain-Computer Interaction and Human-Computer Integration: Direction of Ocular Organoids and Brain-Computer Interaction).

Her current research directions include: the pathogenesis of ocular surface diseases; development of nano-drug delivery systems for ocular drug delivery; and cultivation and application of ocular organoids. She has published over 50 papers in reputable journals including Bioactive Materials, Advanced Science, Chemical Engineering Journal, and Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science (IOVS). Dr. Hua has served as Principal Investigator for one sub-project of the National Key Research and Development Program of China, three General Projects and one Young Scientist Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one General Project of the Tianjin Natural Science Foundation, and one Key Project of Tianjin Applied Basic Research. She has received two Second Prizes of Tianjin Scientific and Technological Progress Award.
