当前主要从事青少年近视防控及糖尿病视网膜病变、年龄相关性黄斑变性等玻璃体视网膜疾病的基础及临床研究。先后主持国家自然科学基金2项、省自然科学基金3项、省重大项目1项，参与主持其他国家省厅等科研项目20余项；发表含SCI源在内论文50余篇，翻译出版专著5本、科普读物4本，参与制定国内行业指南/共识28篇、国际指南5篇、团标7篇，参编教材2部。

Professor Liu currently focuses on basic and clinical research in adolescent myopia prevention and control, as well as vitreoretinal diseases including diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. He has successively served as principal investigator for 2 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), 3 projects of the Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and 1 major provincial project. He has also participated as a core investigator in over 20 other research projects funded by national, provincial, or departmental sources. He has published more than 50 papers, including those indexed in SCI. He has translated and published 5 monographs and 4 popular science books. He has participated in the formulation of 28 domestic clinical guidelines/consensuses, 5 international guidelines, 7 group standards, and has contributed as a co-author to 2 textbooks.
