瞿佳教授，现任温州医科大学附属眼视光医院终身名誉院长、中国眼谷·温州眼视光国际创新中心理事长，国家眼视光工程技术研究中心主任、视觉健康全国重点实验室副主任、教育部近视诊疗与防控工程技术中心主任、海南乐城真实世界研究院院长等学术职务。现任国务院学位办临床医学学科评议组专家、教育部眼视光医学教学指导委员会主任委员、全国儿童青少年近视防控专家宣讲团团长，曾任温州医科大学校长（2002-2015），中华医学会眼科学会多届副主任委员。

瞿佳教授主持973项目、国家自然科学基金重点项目等百余项课题，发表SCI论文350余篇，授权发明专利近50项。以第一完成人获国家科技进步二等奖两项、何梁何利奖、谈家桢奖及多项省部级科技一等奖，连续多年入选爱思唯尔中国高被引学者。他创办并主编《Eye and Vision》等三本专业中英文期刊，主编眼视光学国家规划教材（21本，已出三版）及《眼科学》等教材，获全国首届优秀教材奖及三项国家教学成果二等奖。

获全国模范教师、卫生部有突出贡献中青年专家、浙江省特级专家等称号，并获得亚太眼科学会、中华眼科学会特殊贡献奖及浙江省医师终身成就奖。2012年获美国视光学高等教育学会眼视光卓越领导奖，2002年和2013年分别被美国新英格兰视光学院和纽约州立大学授予荣誉博士学位。

Professor Qu Jia is Chief honorary Director of the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University (WMU) and chairman of Eye Valley@ China. He holds academic positions including director of the National Engineering Research Center for Ophthalmology and Optometry, deputy director of the State Key Laboratory for Eye Health, director of the NMPA Key Laboratory for Research and Evaluation of Ophthalmic Medical Devices and Drugs, director of the Engineering Research Center of Myopia Diagnosis, Treatment and Prevention (Ministry of Education), member of the Clinical Medicine Discipline Evaluation Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, chair of the Optometry and Ophthalmology Teaching Steering Committee (Ministry of Education), chair of the Chinese Optometry Association, head of the National Expert Publicity Group for Comprehensive Myopia Prevention and Control in Children and Adolescents (Ministry of Education), vice president of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and chair of its Ophthalmology Branch, executive council member of the China Higher Education Society, and president of the Zhejiang Higher Education Association. He previously served as president of Wenzhou Medical University (2002–2015) and as vice chair for multiple terms of the Ophthalmology Society of the Chinese Medical Association.

 

Professor Qu has led over 100 research projects, including a National Basic Research Program (973 Program) as chief scientist and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation. He has published over 350 SCI papers and been granted nearly 50 invention patents. He is the recipient of 2 State Scientific and Technological Progress Awards (both as lead investigator), the Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize, the Tan Jiazhen Prize, and multiple provincial/ministerial science and technology awards, including a China Medical Science and Technology Award. He has been named a Highly Cited Chinese Researcher (Clinical Medicine) by Elsevier for several consecutive years. He founded and serves as editor-in-chief of three journals, including Eye & Vision, and Chinese Journal of Optometry & Ophthalmology.He founded and serves as editor-in-chief of three Chinese/English professional journals, including Eye and Vision. He is chief editor of the national planning textbooks for optometry (21 volumes, three editions) and the national planning textbook Ophthalmology, and has received the First National Excellent Textbook Award as well as three second-place National Teaching Achievement Awards.

 

Professor Qu has been honored with National Teaching Master, National Model Teacher, National Outstanding Hospital President, Distinguished Contribution Expert of the Ministry of Health, and First-Level Distinguished Expert of Zhejiang Province. He has also received Special Contribution and Outstanding Contribution Awards from the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology and the Chinese Ophthalmological Society. In recognition of his contributions to optometric education in China and globally, he received the Leadership Award for Optometry Excellence from the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (USA) in 2012, and honorary doctorates from the New England College of Optometry (USA, 2002) and the State University of New York (USA, 2013).
