香港理工大学杰出创科学人计划讲席教授，高等研究院视觉科学研究中心主任，中山大学中山眼科中心客座教授。曾任中山大学中山眼科中心二级教授、墨尔本大学眼科学教授。国家杰出青年基金获得者，国家“万人计划”领军人才，国家科技部中青年科技创新领军人才，广东特支计划杰出人才（“南粤百杰”），British Journal of Ophthalmology副主编。曾任亚太眼科学会副秘书长和常务理事，2016年创办亚太远程眼科学会并担任创会主席。2023年入选世界最具影响力眼科人物100强。其研究成果多次以论著形式发表在《Lancet》《JAMA》等国际权威期刊。
