毕宏生教授长期致力于儿童青少年近视防控、免疫与炎症性眼病等发病率高致盲性强的眼病研究和眼科公共卫生研究工作。作为国家重点研发计划首席科学家，主持承担国家和省部级科研项目46项；在Lancet等权威SCI期刊发表学术论文75篇；作为首位荣获国家科技进步二等奖、山东省科技进步一等奖等奖励35项。先后荣获国务院政府特殊津贴、全国五一劳动奖章、中华眼科杰出成就奖、山东省中医药杰出贡献奖等荣誉称号20余项。

Professor Bi Hongsheng has long been committed to the prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents, the research of eye diseases with high incidence and blindness, such as immune and inflammatory eye diseases, and the research of public health of ophthalmology. As the chief scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program, he has presided over 46 national and provincial scientific research projects. He has published 75 academic papers in authoritative SCI journals such as the Lancet. As the first winner of the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, the First Prize of Shandong Province Science and Technology Progress Award and other awards 35. It has been awarded more than 20 honorary titles such as the State Council Government Special Allowance, National May Day Labor Medal, China Ophthalmology Outstanding Achievement Award, Shandong Province Traditional Chinese Medicine Outstanding Contribution Award and so on.
