2009年赴澳大利亚墨尔本眼科研究中心进修学习眼科流行病学研究。副主编、参编专著10部，发表SCI、中华系列学术文章46篇，主持科研项目13项，参与国自然及科技局重大专项4项。科研方向主要集中于眼科疾病的流行病学研究和临床研究。第27批中国（天津）援刚果（布）医疗队临时党支部书记兼总队长。

He serves as Deputy Director of the Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technology and Equipment Group and Executive Committee Member of the Ophthalmology Committee, China Medical Equipment Association; Member of the Tianjin Ophthalmological Society and its Vitreoretinal Group; and holds memberships in the China Medical Education Association and Chinese Ophthalmologists Association.

In 2009, he completed advanced training in ophthalmic epidemiology at the Melbourne Eye Research Institute, Australia. His research focuses on ophthalmic epidemiology and clinical studies, with 46 publications in SCI-indexed and leading Chinese medical journals, 10 monographs (Associate Editor/Co-author), 13 projects as Principal Investigator, and participation in 4 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and municipal major research programs.
